"Solid, comforting home-style Malaysian cooking. Dulang does the basics well and it feels like the kind of place you’d happily come back to for an easy, reliable meal. We had the rendang and sayur campur. The flavours were good and nicely balanced, very much that familiar homemade profile rather than restaurant fancy. The rendang sauce was enjoyable, though the beef itself was a little on the dry side and could have been more tender. The sayur campur was fresh and satisfying, a good accompaniment to the richer dishes."

"Delicious local cuisine. Went for the Ayam Masak Lemak and it did not disappoint. To manage some people’s expectations: the food does not come out quickly, but that’s because it looks like a small kitchen and there is a strong emphasis on freshly cooked meals. The food was a perfect serving size, though with larger groups could easily share many of the signature dishes. The Ayam Masak Lemak looks humble but the flavour builds and though it feels rich, it’s quite light. Aromatics are restrained, and it has this fresh, clean, grassy aroma. Bright and savoury flavours with gentle but real chilli heat. The chicken was perfectly cooked: easily to pull apart without being overly shredded. A faint tang from the tumeric lingered. Can see how this would be a comforting, homely meal! Atmosphere was pleasant with lots of families and couples, service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing."

"Authentic Malay Cuisine They serve weekday set menu. Value for money. I recommend to try their Chicken Masak Lemak. It comes with two chicken. Very fulfilling. The food tastes so authentic and delicious. You can tell how delicate the food is by the curated food presentation. It is well-balanced with vegetables, protein and side soup. The sambal belacan has tangy taste to it, make it really suits the mains. The environment of restaurants was clean. Servers were attentive and speaks good english."

"I went to this restaurant with my Japanese colleague, and what impressed me the most was a lady whom I believe is the owner. She personally welcomed us and guided us to our reserved table. She even took our order herself. At one point, I saw her grab her handbag and head out somewhere. Later, she came back carrying a bag of ice — surprisingly, it was for our drinks! That level of attention really amazed me. After enjoying our delicious meal, I went to the restroom and was surprised again to see her cleaning the ladies’ toilet next to the one I used. I truly salute this incredibly hardworking lady. The food was very good, and the ambiance was wonderful. Definitely looking forward to going again in the future."

"Excellent Malay food and good value for money. RM300 for eight persons with a lot of different dishes, each with their own distinctive taste. A must try. If you are not confident, ask the friendly staff for their suggestions. Attached bill might help. Suggest you try the fluffy omelette. No need to travel to Bangkok for Jay Fai's!"

"We had a lovely meal at Dulang Masakan Melayu. The rendang daging was rich and tender, the tempoyak daun kayu had an authentic flavour, and the ayam kunyit was well seasoned and cooked just right. The telur dadar was simple but comforting and paired well with the other dishes. Special mention to our waiter, Aman — he was very attentive, friendly, and ensured we were well taken care of throughout our meal. Overall, a satisfying dining experience with authentic Malay flavours. Would definitely come back."

"The food was delicious and well suited to our taste. The atmosphere was calm, and the staff as well as the cashier were very attentive and friendly. However, considering the price of RM26, the patin fish portion was quite small and not very satisfying. Hopefully this can be improved. Overall, it was a good experience and we would come again."

"Came in here for dinner one evening since the restaurant was just right outside my hotel. The food was so good. Their ayam masak lemak was excellent and I really love the gravy, so much that I almost lick the bowl clean. The menu is design for min 2 people on sharing concept and there aren't much individual dishes. Although I was dining alone, I over ordered as usual but the food was so good that I finished everything. The place looks relatively new and everything was spick and span. I like the colour tone of the interior design. They open for lunch and dinner. Will cone back for more the next time I am on the island."
